John Hunt Obituary
John was a lover of life who understood that a person didn't need to chase after things to be alive; he understood that life itself was the chase. He spent his life loving North Shelby Raider football, Mexico High School Bulldog football, fishing, being part of the Optimist Club, grilling, baking, and hosting a Facebook live sports show. He was absolutely fearless, yet he was a God-fearing man who walked by faith and lived a life that was a ministry in and of itself.
He is survived by a sister: Jami Williams and husband: James of Mexico; uncle: Jerry McElfresh of Shelbyville; nephews: Kyser Williams and Drew Young of Mexico; and one niece: Emma Asher of Mexico.
The family invites everyone to come out and say hello, and share your favorite memory of John to help Celebrate his incredible life: 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Open Door Fellowship in Shelbyville with a brief service beginning at 2 p.m. Also; 3 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Mexico.
