John Bernard Indelicato entered eternal life on Christmas morning, December 25, 2025,leaving this world surrounded by the love of his family and the hope that comes from Jesus Christ.
John was born in
Buffalo, New York, to Joseph Indelicato and Angie Verante. He married his beloved wife, Raimonda Indelicato, in 1971 in
Buffalo, New York, and together they shared a lifetime of love, perseverance, and devotion to their family. John and Raimonda raised their family in Buffalo, where they built their life and made their home for decades.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Raimonda Indelicato; his children John Louis Indelicato (wife Laura Indelicato), Joseph Indelicato, and Angela Indelicato; and his grandchildren. Grandchildren of John Louis and Laura Indelicato are: Kyle John Indelicato, John Nickolas Indelicato, Nickolas John Indelicato, Elijah John-Paul Indelicato, Isaiah John Indelicato, Luke John-Adrian Indelicato, Julia Catherine Indelicato, and Anna Elizabeth Indelicato. Grandchildren of Joseph Indelicato are: Joseph Indelicato and Sera Indelicato. John was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sera Indelicato.
For 38 years, John worked at the Ford Motor Company in
Buffalo, NY, providing faithfully for his family. He worked tirelessly-often with significant overtime-because it was deeply important to him to put his children through private Catholic education, and he willingly gave countless hours, week after week, to make that possible.
John was drafted into the United States Army and served with honor during the Vietnam conflict, where he fought in combat and lost many he went to war beside. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Army Commendation Medalfor his bravery. The effects of war followed him through life in the form of many ailments, yet he met them with grit and fortitude-quietly teaching his family what perseverance and courage look like.
In 2018, John Louis and Laura moved from
Buffalo, New York, to
Orlando, Florida. In 2019, John and Raimonda relocated as well-wanting to be closer to their son, daughter-in-law, and beloved grandchildren. In Orlando, they were blessed to live next door to one another, sharing daily life as a family in a way that became a treasured gift.
In Orlando, John Louis and Laura and their family joined the religious order The Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, and John and Raimonda followed and were received with love. They were prayed for, cared for, and truly embraced by that faith community. John and Raimonda were also devoted parishioners of Holy Family Catholic Church in Doctor Phillips.
In the later years of his life-especially as suffering increased-John's faith became more personal and more serious. He began to turn his heart more fully toward Jesus Christ, finding comfort in prayer and in the love of his family. Three years ago, John lost the ability to walk, and during those years his wife, Raimonda, lived a beautiful and heroic love through service to her husband. Out of devotion, she pushed herself every day to be present for him, caring for his needs without complaint. She would often walk him for miles so he could enjoy what he loved so much-the warmth of the sun on his skin. To witness her steadfast care was to see love in action: faithful, humble, and constant.
Above all, John deeply loved his grandchildren. Even while battling many ailments, his face would brighten whenever he saw them-especially Anna Elizabeth, and he was grateful to have been blessed to know her for three years before being called home to the Lord.
