John A. Ioia, Jr. passed away in Columbus, Ohio August 11, 2025. John was born to John A. Ioia, Sr. and Mary Ann (nee Maraffa) Ioia on May 13, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio. John was predeceased by both parents as well as maternal grandparents Sebastion and Carmella (nee Donato) Maraffa. He is survived by many cousins. John attended Sacred Heart Elementary and Bishop Watterson High School. During his school years, John was a devout alter boy often assisting the priest at Catholic Masses. After high school, John worked at Rexall Drugs until he entered the United States Army. During his military service, John served on active duty in Vietnam. After John was honorably discharged from the army, he went to work for the United States Postal Service where he worked until his retirement in 1992. After retirement, John enjoyed following his favorite teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. John was a life long avid fisherman. John's funeral mass will be held at Mother of Sorrows Chapel at St. Joseph's Cemetery September 6, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. with burial immediately following.
