It is with great sadness, the family of John "Jack" Cunningham Jr., 85, born July 16, 1940 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at the HopeHealth Hospice Center. He was a devoted husband to Maureen Cunningham for 63 years. They raised their children in Branford, CT. Then they moved to RI in their later years. He is survived by two daughters, Ellen DeStefano and partner, Jason Andersen of Denver, CO; Kellie Cunningham-Toland and husband, Michael of Jamestown, RI; and a son, Patrick Cunningham and wife, Stacy of Metuchen, NJ. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Natalie, Alec, Lauren, Ben, Bridgette, and Jack.
Jack was full of life and laughter. He had a quick wit and a generous heart, with unwavering commitment to helping others. He was very proud of his long and successful sales career. Jack loved his tennis groups, being an active member of the Branford Lions Club, and making friends everywhere he went. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed exchanging vegetables with neighbors and sharing his abundant surplus with others.
Plans are being made for a celebration of life ceremony in the coming new year.
