John Allan “Johnny” Jackson, 68, of Upatoi, Georgia, passed away at his home on September 10, 2025. He was born on February 26, 1957, in Columbus, Georgia, to Dr. M.W. Jackson, Jr. and Patricia O’Donnell Jackson. In addition to his parents, Johnny was predeceased by his sister,Patricia “Patti” Jackson Howard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Debbie O. Jackson, and their son, Bradley W. Jackson. He is also survived by his brother, M. W. “Mike” Jackson III (Kathy), his sister, Lloyd J. Pease (Jay), nephews: Jack J. “Jason” Pease, IV (Whitney), Adam R. Pease (Cathryn), nieces: Kathleen P.Whitley (Allen), Kelly H. Butts, Ann B. Howard, Carter J. Reinhardt (Scott), Claire J. Thomas (Daniel), brother-n-law Stephen Howard (Sue), sister-n-laws Cheryl O. Vasquez (Ray), Tiffany P.Gilbert (Rick), brother-n-law Mark W. Purdy (Robin) and many more great nieces and nephews,cousins and dear friends.

Devoted husband, father, brother and friend, Johnny was known for his sense of humor and his love for the outdoors– especially hunting, fishing, or playing golf. He rarely missed watching the Braves,and loved spending countless hours coaching and watching his son play baseball.

Visitation will be held at the home of his sister, Lloyd Pease, on Sunday, September 14, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. An additional visitation will take place Monday, September 15, at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. A private burial will follow at the family cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to CCS and in the memo line “Calvary Knights Baseball,” 7556 Old Moon Road. Columbus, Georgia or to the Patricia Jackson Howard Scholarship Fund at the Historic Columbus Foundation, 1440 2nd Avenue. Columbus, Georgia 31901.
