I had the blessing of meeting Mr. James through a telephone call. I was his Insurance agent. The first time we talked, I remember getting in trouble with my supervisor over this call because we were on almost 2 hours. He told me he was terminal and he had so much to say. He gave me advice for my son who is currently in university. Suggested courses for him to take, and my son followed his advice. He wanted to talk to my husband as well, which I broke all rules and I allowed him to. I remember thinking to myself, "What an extraordinary human being." My supervisors listened to the call because everything is being recorded, and realized this was a man that wanted to share his knowledge and leave his footprint in this world before he was gone. And he sure did! My deepest condolences to the family and to his lovely wife Marjorie which I also met over the phone. May God continue to give you all peace.
With sympathy, Veronica Lerma

My name is Bonnie Baker and I grew up with John. We went to High School together also. He was a great human being and everyone loved him. His humor and love of everyone was always known. My sincere condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing. ( Bonnie, Los Angeles)

I was fortunate to meet John on the poker felt not all that long ago. Despite knowing him only a couple of years he made an impact with his charisma. We knew him as Parker at the card table, and his ability to light up the room was remarkable. I´m lucky to have shared many, many laughs with him, and it was always wonderful to watch him interact with everyone in a kind, lighthearted way. Take care, Matt.
