John Maurice Jenney, 83, of Concord, VA, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Julanne Liberti Jenney. They shared their love and lives together for 50 years.
Born in Pasadena, CA, on February 17, 1943, he was the son of the late Nelle Combs and Francis E. Jenney. John loved the Lord Jesus, his Savior. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He went into the service at the age of 17, and enjoyed his time in Stuttgart, Germany, where he was stationed. John was proud of all his grandchildren. He was a prolific reader. He loved cars and working on cars and was a supporter of Southern California Hot Rod culture.
He is survived by three children, Nicole Harris and husband, William of Spout Spring, Michael Adam Davis and wife Loulou of Costa Rica, and John R. Jenney of Williamsburg; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Carol Ostrom and husband, Ike; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Smith.
