John Jones Obituary

John A. Jones, 49, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday night, October 12, 2025 in Lake City following a brief illness. He was born in Memphis, TN on September 2, 1976, and has made Lake City his home since 1986, moving here from that area. He was a graduate of the Lake City Christian Academy as well as the Tulsa Welding School. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, four wheelers and dirt bikes; as well as, fishing, swimming, going on the boat, and spending time with his family and his dogs. John was known to be a very comical guy, and always found a way to inject humor into things and keep his family laughing. He is preceded in death by his father, Jacob W. Jones.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion of over 10 years, Jennifer Jones of Lake City; mother, Rebecca Jones of Lake City; step children, Kamdyn & Angelo Tortora both of Lake City; brothers, Kevin & Andrew Jones both of Lake City; and sisters, Tiffanie Jones Conner (Mike) of Lake City & Cyndy Jones Sullivan of Alabama. Six nieces and three nephews also survive.
A graveside funeral service for John will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Interment will follow the services. Arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S. US HWY 441, Lake City, FL, 32025, 386-752-1954.
