John Jordan, age 73, of Gurley, NE passed away on Monday, December 08, 2025. Cremation has taken place and services will take place at a later date.

John Joseph Jordan was born on April 9, 1952 in Iowa City, Iowa to Wilson E. and

Lucile A. (Stockman) Jordan. There he attended St. Patrick's Catholic school until the family moved to Colorado Springs, CO. in 1968.

In Colorado Springs John attended and graduated from Palmer High School. John enjoyed working on cars and after graduation he found work as a mechanic. He continued to work as a mechanic for many years, and eventually opened his own service station.

Eventually John sold the service station and moved to Lodgepole, NE. to be closer to family. He worked at Cabela's in Sidney, NE. as a supervisor until his retirement. On February 11, 2006 John married Janice Horst (maiden name Berry), and they made their home in Gurley, NE.

John and Janice liked to travel and especially enjoyed trips to Laughlin, NV. and the Black Hills, SD area. John also enjoyed playing the slots in Deadwood, SD and during his trips to SD he became interested in the history of the Black Hills area, and enjoyed visiting the local museums.

Survivors include his brother Dave Jordan of Oshkosh, NE, step-daughter Janella Kruse and husband Shawn of Gurley, NE, grandsons Joshua Kruse, Jakob Kruse, and Jonathan Kruse of Gurley, NE, sister-in-law Phyllis Jordan of Colorado Springs, CO, nephew Wes Jordan and wife Liz of Colorado Springs, CO, and nephew Marc Jordan and wife Heather of Colorado Springs, CO, grand-niece Sage Jordan of Colorado Springs, CO, and grand-nephew Wyatt Jordan of Colorado Springs Co.

John was preceded in his death by his parents, wife Janice Jordan, and brothers Ed Jordan and Pat Jordan.
