John T. Keacher, 67, of Fox Lake passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 8, 2022. He was born April 12, 1955, in Chicago to Don and Pat Keacher.
John was raised in Carpentersville and was a 1973 graduate of Irving Crown High School. In 1981, he married Michelle, the love of his life. In 1985, with the support of his wife and family, John started Olympic Caulking Contractors, which was a successful business for over thirty years until his retirement.
Throughout his life, John enjoyed traveling to Florida. What started as family road trips to Fort DeSoto led to John and Michelle purchasing a permanent residence in Pinellas County for the family to enjoy warm weather and boating year-round.
John was known for his keen sense of humor, being the life of the party and always lending a hand when friends or family called. If you were trusted, you were called "Louie" regardless of your name.
His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them. John was proud of the accomplishments his children made as adults. He took pride in their work ethic and that they all chose careers that were service related. John loved watching his grandchildren compete in various sports and activities. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved sharing their experiences with whomever he came in contact.
He will be missed by his wife, Michelle; children, Dayna (Matthew) Pierce, John (Stephanie Pahls) Keacher, and Katelin Keacher; grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle and Sophie; and siblings, Barb (Earl) Harris and Don (Kristina) Keacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ken Keacher; and his sister, Jacque Keacher.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18 from 11:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to the Pierce Family Foundation, www.thepiercefoundation.org. Their goal is to make a positive difference in the quality of life of cancer survivors, cancer cure research and development, and to elevate cancer awareness throughout the community.
