John Richard Keller

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – John R. Keller, Sr., 83, of East Liverpool, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Calcutta Health Care Center with his wife by his side.

John was born in Hagerstown, MD on April 11, 1942, a son of the late John C. and Ada Virginia (Shallenberger) Keller. He was a veteran of the Marines proudly serving in Okinawa, Japan. After the service John moved to East Liverpool and began working at Crucible Steel as a millwright until 1982 then went to work for WCI Steel in Warren, OH. He was a member of the Northside Community Church where he attended Bible study. John was also a member of the American Legion Post 374. He enjoyed gardening and spending time traveling with his family.

Preceding John in death were his son Kevin E. Keller and sister Lois Dailey.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, whom he married December 11, 1965, Sondra Belle (Dorsey) Keller; two sons John R. Keller, Jr. and his wife Kim and Matthew D. Keller; four grandchildren Andrew, Brittney, Cinnamon and Alex Keller; brother Keith Keller and his wife Carol and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. officiated by Pastor Larry Rose. Private burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service the family will gather at the Northside Community Church for a time of fellowship.
