John Joseph Kells

John Kells, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 2nd, surrounded by the love of his family.
John is survived by his devoted wife, Mary, as well as his children Michael and Rosemarie, Daniel, Patricia and Julie, Theresa and Phil, Mary Margaret and Peter, and James and Linda; cherished grandfather of thirteen grandchildren; and adored great-grandfather of fourteen, with one more on the way.
A man of many talents and deep dedication, John retired from Lufthansa Cargo and IATSE Local One, where he was known for his hard work, integrity, and camaraderie. Before his professional career, John honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 - a period that shaped his lifelong sense of discipline, loyalty, and service.
John's zest for life was evident to all who knew him. He loved traveling the world alongside Mary, exploring new places and cultures with an infectious curiosity and open heart. Closer to home, he found peace and joy sailing in Little Neck Bay and treasured every moment spent with family and friends. His warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to share in his company.
As we remember John, we offer this prayer of the faithful:
Loving God, we thank You for the life of John Kells and the gift he was to his family and friends.
We pray that he may rest in Your eternal peace.
Grant comfort and strength to his family and loved ones, that they may find hope in Your love and solace in their memories of him.
