March 23, 1936 - May 9, 2025
Weddington, North Carolina - It is with heartfelt sadness that we convey the passing of John L. Kiker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Kiker passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on May 9, 2025 at the age of 89. A native of Charlotte, John was born March 23, 1936. He was a son of the late James Eli Kiker and Hazel Pauline Bentley Kiker.
John was known for his kind gentle nature and his passion for cooking and college basketball. John's faith was an essential part of his life. He was a member of Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church and although homebound for many years, enjoyed visitation from Pastor Ed Thomas and church members.
Mr. Kiker is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Carolyn H. Kiker, two of their three children James D. Kiker and Pamela C. Kiker, daughter in law Irma C. Kiker, grandchildren Grant R. Kiker, Tonie K. Malcolm, Andrew Kiker and his wife Tara, great grandchildren Lilly, Gabby, Mikey, Victoria , Eli and Hannah. His grandchildren were the joy of this life.
He is preceded in death by his son Larry Anthony Kiker and his brother Rodney M. Kiker.
A private service will be held with the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, 8600 Potter Road, Weddington, NC 28104.

I worked with Johnny at the park n shop on Amity Road years ago he was always in a good spirit and laughing at our jokes . I will always remember him and Carolyn and send my sincere condolences to Carolyn and his family .
