"Proud of his Irish Heritage"
WATERBURY – John "Jack" Kilday, age 71 of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital with his family and close friends by his side.
Jack was born on January 13, 1951 in Boston MA the son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Rodgerson) Kilday and he was raised in a Boston orphanage from a very young age. Proud of his Irish heritage and as all good Irishman are, he was an avid singer. Jack enjoyed drawing, writing, classic movies, music and life itself but especially enjoyed golfing and having a beer with his friends. Most recently and at the time of his passing, he was employed by the City of Waterbury as the Building Facility Coordinator at Jefferson Square. He was a loving father and brother and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his children; Michael Kilday of New Haven and Michelle Grant of Hartland CT, his siblings; Joseph, Thomas, Deborah and Christine Kilday Greco as well as seven grandchildren. He had a score of very close friends too numerous to mention.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit with Jack's family on Friday from 5:00 until the service at 7:00 p.m. Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence, share a memory or words of comfort with the family and friends of someone that was important to you. Please do that on the funeral home tribute page at www.eastsidememorial.com. If you are able however, attending a service is the thoughtful, caring and supportive thing to do.
