John B. Kimball, 59, of Waltham, MA passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2025 at Bear Mountain in Sudbury, MA. After being moved into Hospice in January 2024. John battled Lung Cancer for the past three and a half years with courage and boldness.
Born and raised in Waltham to the late Charles J. Kimball and Karen L. Kimball (Burns). Fun-loving, loyal and an occasional wise guy, John was a man of fierce independence who had a passion for music, eagles, long car rides and the love of his family. Always up for a good laugh or a ride that would only cost you five bucks, he was a simple man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. In his spare time, you could find him camping in New Hampshire, collecting coins, spending time with his daughters and Sunday dinners or writing jokes.
Known as one of the only men who could paint a ceiling without the use of a ladder, John spent most of his career as a painter and one of his greatest achievements was a mural he painted for his daughters, a large rainbow in a baby blue sky with many clouds that filled the entire back wall of their childhood home on Moody Street.
John also had an orange Tabby Cat named Baby who chose John as her person, often deciding his dinner would be hers. She rarely missed an opportunity to include herself in his phone conversations, making each call memorable and filled with laughter.
We will truly miss the way you were always here for us when we needed you, and we will forever remember the way you fiercely loved us all.
Predeceased by his daughter Karen L. Kimball, his dear sister Kimberly E. Kimball, and his grandson Liam Meadows.
John leaves to cherish his loving memory, his three precious daughters, Mary Jo Kimball, Stephanie Aucoin and her husband Nicholas Aucoin, Kristin Kimball and her two sons. In addition, his sister, Sharon Kimball of Waltham, MA and her children Joshua Coye and Courtney Coye. As well as, his great Aunt MaryCarol Regan of Waltham, MA. Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
