John Wayne Kinslow, age 76, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 18, 2026. Born on November 30, 1949, in Glasgow, he lived a life marked by dedication, service, and family.
John was a respected member of the community, having retired as a supervisor from the Road Department in Barren County. His work was a testament to his commitment to public service and his desire to improve the infrastructure of his hometown.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and the National Guard during Desert Storm, a time that shaped his character and instilled a deep sense of patriotic pride. His faith was an essential part of his life, and he attended Hanging Fork Baptist Church, where he found solace and community.
John leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife Amye Toms Kinslow, with whom he shared 4 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughters Shelley Chandler (David) and Cindy Coats (Alex), as well as stepchildren Amber Judd (Korey), Jonathon Toms (Vanessa), and William Toms (Meredith). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, including John David Chandler, Rileigh Coats, Ryder Coats, and seven step-grandchildren. He is remembered with love by his sisters Linda Wray (Dwayne) and Rita Holman (Neal), along with several nieces and nephews. Additionally, he leaves behind his stepfather, Joe Taylor, and sister-in-law, June Meador.
John was preceded in death by his father, William "Billy" Kinslow, his mother, Marie Smith Taylor, his wife Andrea Kinslow of 30 year, granddaughter Raven Coats, his sister Sue Furlong, and brothers-in-law Donald Meador, Bobby Belcher, and Donald Furlong. Their memories remain in the hearts of those who cherished him.
The funeral service for Mr. Kinslow will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 23rd at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Old Zion Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the US Army Color Guard. Visitation will begin Sunday, February 22nd 4:00PM until 8:00PM and Monday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
