I never knew Mr. Kivela; but his work and service in Marquette and Lansing impacted me nonetheless. Losing a loved one is never easy, but I hope the family, and those close to him, know how much he and his work mattered to his constituents. My prayers are with you. I know the costs of dealing with the disease, having lost my mother to same at the age of 14. Time will ease the suffering. But, I also hope, knowing what Mr. Kivela meant to us, will hasten the healing.
