Born in 1938, John "Jack" Klapka passed away on Thursday July 21st 2022 at the age of 83. He is survived by his devoted wife Maralind and his children David (Jennifer) and Tiffany (Robert Brannan) and 2 grandchildren who reside in Cumming Georgia. His 38 year career at IBM eventually relocated the family to Sandy Springs, GA.
Jack was also an 8 year veteran of the Naval Reserves where he was honorably discharged with dedicated service as a MAD Sonar Operator aboard a P-2 Neptune. After retirement from IBM, he then began a Real Estate career with Prudential Atlanta Realty and retired after an amazing 12 year career filled with milestones, awards and records. Jack was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus achieving 4thdegree status, during his 65 year membership. He and Maralind were also active members of Marriage Encounter and were admirable mentors to newly wed couples on retreats and also strengthening their marriage on an ongoing basis and were a shining example of a loving and devoted couple. They just celebrated 55 wonderful years of marriage. Jack had a great approach to life and it made him not only successful in careers but also in his friendships. At an early age he was curious and enjoyed researching and learning which continued throughout his life. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed helping and socializing with others. Jack Klapka's funeral mass will be held on August 4th 2022 at 1pm at St. Brendan's Catholic Church 4633 Shiloh Rd. Cumming, Georgia.
