John Kenneth Kobal 71, of Belle Vernon Washington Township passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday May 11th, 2025 at 1051am. Born May 1st 1954 in New Eagle hospital the son to the late John Kobal Jr, and Violet Tofts Kobal. He was a resident of Belle Vernon for the last 44 years. John was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Rostraver Township.
John fiercely loved his family, cooking and firefighting. He loved nothing more family gatherings where he could share the food, he made with the ones he loved. John was dedicated and proud to serve the communities of Fallowfield Township and Washington Township as a second-generation volunteer firefighter for a combined total of 17 years of service. John was a graduate from the class of 1972 at Charleroi High School. He worked at Allenport Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel until 1985. He attended MSTI (Machine Shop Technology Institute) and graduated 1988 second in his class with an Associate’s Degree in Robotics and Industrial Automation. He worked at Washington tool and Machine from 1989 until retirement in 2017.
He is survived by a wife of 44 years Ruth McDonough Kobal of Washington Township, and a daughter Angela Kobal also of Washington Township, two sisters and brothers in law Patricia & A. Roy Anderson of Rostraver Township, Mary Ann & Philip Turlik of Carroll Twp.; nephew Roy A. Anderson & Brandy Anderson and great nephew Cody J. Anderson of Rostraver Township. As well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Relatives and friends will gather directly at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church on Wednesday for funeral services at 10 AM with the Very Rev. Stephan Gresh of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church officiating. Interment will take place in Monongahela Cemetery. Parastas Services will be held Tuesday at 7 PM in the funeral home.
