John J. Kopec

John was born on October 15, 1922 and passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016. John was a resident of Springfield, Massachusetts at the time of his passing. educated in Simpson, PA. John was a veteran of WW II serving with the United States Army with the 3940th Quartermaster Gas Company which followed Patton's Army through Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland through Central Europe. He was the recipient of several awards and citations including the Good Conduct Medal, EAME with 4 Bronze Stars and the WW II Victory Medal. He was married to Wanda (Szpotowski) Kopec. Relatives and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday evening, July 13th from 5-7 pm at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., Springfield.
