John R. Kozak

John Robert Kozak, age 70, of Wallingford passed away on February 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Candy Kozak. John was born in Meriden, CT on December 6, 1955, the son of the late John S. and Irene Wojtunik Kozak.

John was a lifelong resident of Wallingford, CT, and a proud graduate of Sheehan High School. He dedicated many years of service to the Town of Wallingford, as a valued employee of the Water and Sewer Division, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to the community he called home.

A true car enthusiast, John has a lifelong passion for automobiles and could often be found fixing or maintaining cars – not just his own, but anyone's who needed help. Friends and family alike relied on his knowledge, generosity, and willingness to lend a hand.

Above all else, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather. In addition to his loving wife, he also leaves behind his son John E. Kozak and his wife Sarah of Orange, his daughter Cassandra Fetzer and her husband Austin of Cary, NC, his cherished grandchildren, Logan, Luca, and Ava, who brought him immense pride and joy, his sister Dolores Smith of Wallingford, many beloved nieces & nephews, and a close-knit group of loyal beloved friends who meant so much to him.

In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his sister Linda Kozak.

Those who knew John will remember him for his quiet strength, loyalty to family and friends, and his readiness to help anyone in need. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the lives of all who loved him.
