He was born on May 22, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to Leo and Barbara (Celmar) Kulikowski. John retired from Ironworkers Local 1. He loved to play golf and stayed very active as a member of The Twin Lakes Golf Club, as well as the Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving life partner, Kellie Schwankl; two stepdaughters, Kassie Sorenson (Josh) and Katlyn Bates (Emma); five sisters, Linda Olszewski, Joyce Macianskis, Janet Kwilosz, Joan Kulikowski and Jane Domagalski; numerous nieces and nephews; many other loving family members and several close friends.
John was lovingly known as "Papa Johnny" to Zara and Rosie, his precious step-granddaughters.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
A committal service with burial following will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Chapel, 7201 Archer Road, Justice, IL 60458.
