John Billy Lamar, 98, of Cleburne, Texas passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026.
There will be a graveside service held at a later date.
Mr. Lamar was born in Houston County, Texas on August 17, 1927, the son of Asthena (Holliday) and George Houston Lamar.
He married Nelda Corley on August 14, 1954, in Clute, Texas. He was retired as a pipe fitter with Dow Chemical and was a member of Sand Flat Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and his grandson, Johnathan.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Nelda Lamar of Cleburne; sons, Brad Lamar and wife, Sherry, of Flatonia, Texas and Dayne Lamar and wife, Leanne, also of Cleburne; grandchildren, Jeff Lamar, Mike Lamar, Britney Meaders and husband, Seth, Cassiday Rogers and husband, Chris, and Bo Lamar; and great grandchildren, Caeleigh, C.J., Sophie, Vivienne, Sydney, Brooke, Eli, and Maverick.
