John Maurice Lasyone
Died December 3rd, 2024, in New Roads, Louisiana.
John "Johnny" was born on January 23rd, 1971, in Channelview, Texas
He is survived by his parents Abbie Gail Bergeron & Kenneth Wayne Lasyone; Five siblings: Rebecca, Stephanie, Sarah, Amanda, & Tabitha; multiple nieces and nephews as well as a great nephew and niece.
He was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents JB & Agnes Lasyone and maternal grandparents Jack Bergeron & Ellarine Thibodeaux, as well as Stepmother Cresentia Thoms Lasyone
His occupation as a truck driver took him across the U.S.A. He was fortunate to see parts of the country many people will never see. He loved Semi-trucks of all types, and he liked to build model cars and trucks.
He was a kind-hearted soul that loved his family. He never met a stranger, and all that met him knew him as "Big John". He loved animals and music, especially rock-n-roll. He was passionate about mechanics and knew his way around an engine. He was proud of his heritage.
John lived to give to others, even though he never really had a lot for himself. He would spend his last dime to make a child smile. He was a big kid at heart. He loved to talk about the good ole' days of childhood and spending time with family. He was a teller of tall tales and enjoyed elaborating about times on the road and always made people laugh. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
In lieu of services, family members will gather at a future date for a "celebration of life" of Big John.

Big John will be missed. He took the time to let me pour out my feelings to him. As I was struggling with my identity, he encouraged me to be myself. I'll never forget the moment I had the confidence to show him my new secret, a dress I bought for myself. He looked puzzled but accepted me the way I am in my own private way.
