John Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Dec. 16, 2025.
Mr. John C. Lee, 84, of Fayetteville, peacefully left the pain of this world and ran into the arms of his Lord and Savior, healed and whole, on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 1:45 p.m. He transitioned into his heavenly home while being lovingly cared for by Hospice at the VA Medical Center.

John, affectionately known as "JC" to many, was born on February 21, 1941, to the late Rudolph and Essie Pearl Lee. He proudly served his country for six years in the United States Air Force. Throughout his working years, John wore many hats-long-distance truck driver, paint contractor, and for 25 years, owner and operator of Ramsey Street Seafood Market.

One of John's most memorable qualities was his incredible sense of humor. He was always joking, and it was often hard to tell whether he was serious or teasing. His laughter was contagious, and he had a remarkable ability to lift the spirits of everyone he encountered.

John was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Praise Fellowship Church of God for 20 years, and one of the proudest and happiest moments of his life was giving his heart to the Lord in 2005.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna Tew, Marie Beale, and Louise Gardener; and his brothers, Lonnie Lee, Jr., Jerry Lee, and Jesse Lee.

He is survived by his loving wife and devoted caregiver of 58 years, Janet Faye Spencer Lee, of the home. Also left to cherish his memory are his children: Angela Lee Faircloth (William), Kimberly Lee Folger (Charles), and John Christopher Lee (Catherine); his grandchildren: Ashley (Nikki), Jordan (Ben), William Cody Faircloth, John Christian Lee, Ethan Grant Lee, Kadyn Layne Folger, and Kevin Lee Faircloth; his great-grandchildren: Abrielle Nikole Rusler, Pierson John Rusler, and Oakland Joe Jordan, lovingly known by his Papa as "Cowboy Oklahoma"; his sister, Carolyn Larson (Jim) of Rocky Mount; his brother, Elbert Lee (Rita) of Raeford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Praise Fellowship Church of God. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with burial in Lafayette Memorial Park, where Military Honors will be rendered.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's memory to Praise Fellowship Church of God.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
