Alfred Lee Sr.

Alfred Lee Sr., 76, of Shiprock, New Mexico, entered into eternal rest on January 25, 2026,

in Farmington, NM.

He was born on January 10, 1950, in Salina Springs, Arizona, to David and Mayme Nelson.

After being raised in Salina Springs, Alfred answered the call of duty and enlisted in the U.S. Army,

serving his country with honor during the Vietnam War.

Upon his return, Alfred began a remarkable 49-and-a-half-year career as a dragline operator at the Navajo Mine,

a testament to his incredible work ethic and dedication. Beyond his profession, he was a world-renowned

silversmith, whose artistry and skill brought beauty into the world and proudly represented his heritage.

Above all, Alfred was a devoted family man. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to his cherished wife, Velma Lee.

He was a loving father whose memory will be honored by his extended family and countless friends.

He now joins his three sons, Alfred Lee Jr., Albert Lee, and Vince Lee, who preceded him in death.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026, at

Riverstone Church, officiated by Reverend Jeremy Barbee. Burial will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at

Kirtland Fruitland Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Kirtland Union Hall immediately following the burial.

Alfred Lee Sr. will be remembered for his strength, his skilled hands, his unwavering commitment to his family

and his work, and the profound legacy he leaves behind.
