John Wilfred Leggott

John Wilfred Leggott, age 90, of Parma, Ohio, went to sleep in our Lord - passed away – on Saturday, February 21st, 2026.

John was born on Saturday, December 28th, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio to George and Teresa Leggott. He grew up in Cleveland, where he attended Garfield High School and enjoyed being a 50's kid and sometimes getting into a little trouble with his brothers, his sister and their friends.

In 1963, John married Joan Jutta Nikolic, and they shared 10 years together. He is survived by three sons Greg, Sean, & Jeff, his five grandchildren Rachelle, Ryan, Brittany, Bethany & Marshal, and his brother James. John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thomas, his sister Teresa and his half-sister Jane. John was known for his love of his family.

John spent much of his career working as a carpenter, but had many Jobs over the years including optician at Pearle Vision, painter at Parma Hospital, but his favorite career was making furniture. Outside of work, he loved, making toy boxes for grandchildren and making cabinets for his friends and family. He had many hobbies and interest including church, reading, hunting and fishing (especially with his sons, until one of them dropped his fishing rod into the Lake Erie).

John's friends and family remember John for his love of classical music, his sense of humor, his infectious laugh, his love for his Family, and being an old school Browns' fan.

He made a lasting impact on his community through his work with his church family at Mary Queen of Peace, Legion of Mary, Patricians, Knights of Columbus (3rd degree knight), and being a founding member of Mary's Men at Tilma in Berea. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Mary Queen of Peace, 4423 Pearl Rd, Cleveland, OH 44109, beginning at 10:30am. Visiting Hours are from 9:30am to 10:30am prior in the Church. All are welcome to attend.
