LELIO, John P, 93, passed away in Brooksville, FL. on October 26, 2025. He was a proud veteran (Navy and Air Force), worked on the early Apollo program at Cape Canaveral, retired from GTE Florida (renamed Verizon), enjoyed fishing for mullet in the Gulf of Mexico, and was always willing to help others less fortunate.
He is survived by loving daughters, a caring brother, and cherished grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He is now with his wife of sixty-one years, Catherine (Cay).
He was proud of his published book about his life experiences leading him to be connected to the Apollo 1 project and tragedy in 1967. The book is titled A Tragedy Made to Order. He would be honored for you to read it.
May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you peace.
