John Anthony Lewis II

1960 - 2024

John Anthony Lewis II, a life long resident of Elk Grove and Wilton died on Friday, February 2nd 2024 at the age of 64. He was born January 26, 1960 in Sacramento to John and Joan Lewis, grew up in Elk Grove and Graduated Elk Grove High School in 1978. He worked in Construction as a Foreman with Cal-Sierra Pipelines for many years then became self- employed and went into the Cattle Transportation Trucking business with his brother Tim. He had many passions, and especially enjoyed sunning, fly fishing, watching soccer and golfing. He loved to travel, his favorite, to tropical destinations. He was involved from birth with raising cattle and ranch life participating as a child and teen and later with sons in 4-H and FFA. He was also involved in the High School Rodeo program and rode Saddle Bronc's. He was very devoted to his family and many friends. John absolutely loved life, he was an incredible story teller and he always brought happiness, laughter, joy and love to all who he touched. He is survived and will be missed by his wife, Liz; sons, Jeff and Stephen; daughter-in-law's, Ryndee and Alex; brothers, Bobby and Tim; sister-in-law's, Shawna and Stephanie; grandsons, Mason, Colton and Rhett; granddaughter, Amelia; nephews, Cody, Cole, Jack and James; nieces, Shelby, Brittany, Nataley and Victoria; aunt's, Elda and Marion; mother-in-law, Carolyn; father-in-law, Darrell; and many cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 1st at 11:00a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 9961 Elk Grove-Florin Rd. Elk Grove, CA 95624 across from the main entrance to the Elk Grove Park. A lunch reception will follow.
