JOHN LIENHARD Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kramer Funeral Home - Palouse on Mar. 30, 2026.
John H. Lienhard, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Princeton, Idaho, in the early morning hours of March 13, 2026.

John was born on August 15, 1940, in a cabin in Princeton, Idaho, to Henry "Hank" and Marjorie (Browning) Lienhard. He was raised in Princeton and remained deeply rooted in the community he loved his entire life.

In 1965, John married Sharon Brandt, and together they raised two children, Michael Lienhard and Tia Lienhard Kleinkopf (Kevin). He was a proud grandfather to Dawn Wimer, Eric Lienhard, Casey Kleinkopf, and Katie Kleinkopf.

Later in life, John married Bobbi May in 1998, and through this marriage he gained a large extended family, including stepchildren Terrie Nelson, Tracy Bolyard, Jerry May (Diane), and Shane Humphrey (Chris), along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961, including time in Germany.

He was deeply ingrained in his community, serving as a master mechanic, school bus driver, EMT, volunteer firefighter, and in Search and Rescue. He was known for his ability to fix anything and his willingness to help anyone.

John loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working with his hands.

John is survived by his siblings Ray Lienhard (Marge), Myrna Schultz (Jim), Kathryn Booth, and Tom Lienhard (Sue). He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bob Booth.

Above all, he will be remembered for his steady presence and his deep love for his family and community.

A memorial service will be held on April 18 at 1:00 PM at the Princeton Nazarene Church in Princeton, Idaho.
