John A. Linehan

John Anthony Linehan ("Jack"), age 88, of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on January 31, 2022, surrounded by his children. Jack was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, to Anthony "Chum" Linehan and Annamarie McCarthy.
Jack is survived by his children Michele, Sean, Jeanine, Kathryn, and Candice, and their spouses Mark Monaghan, Nicole Linehan (nee Fries), and Mark Carrow. Jack was predeceased by his mother and father, his brothers Father Eugene Linehan, S.J., Anthony Linehan, and sisters Kathryn Farrell (nee Linehan), Annamarie Linehan, Naureen Kearns (nee Linehan), and his beloved wife Rose Marie Linehan (nee Cardella), who died too soon.
Jack's greatest love was his wife Rose Marie and the children who came from that union. Jack witnessed the glorious weddings of Kate and Mark; Sean and Nicole; and, Jeanine and Mark. Jack ("Pappy") was the proud grandfather to Carter, Liam, and Nolan Linehan. Jack also loved the only Linehan dog, Hershey.
Jack served his country proudly in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer and his community in many civic service roles. "Big Jack" will be remembered fondly by so many in the community.
Jack lived his life for his family, with a strong commitment to his Catholic Faith, and believed that good things come from loving those dear to you, and laughing often and loudly.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anastasia's Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073 on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10:30 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
