John C. Littlefield, 84, of Lake Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on January 14, 2026.
Born in Maine on September 22, 1941, John graduated with honors from Sanford High School in 1959, where he earned the nickname "the Tiger." He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and went on to serve as an Air Force pilot with the Air National Guard on Cape Cod, years he often described as "the best of his life."
John flew commercially for Eastern Airlines for 19 years and retired as a Captain DC-9 and B-727 in 1986. A lifelong learner and provider, he earned his CPA license and Master's degree in Accounting, taught finance at the University of New Hampshire, and trained pilots on the A320 in Toulouse, France. He was a successful real estate entrepreneur with Logan Properties and authored two books: Death of a Falcon and Meet America.
In retirement, John devoted himself to flying for Angel Flight Houston, providing free medical transport to patients in need. He was an avid traveler, fluent in Spanish and French, with a passion for meeting people and learning their stories. He cherished his granddaughters and found great joy in his adventures around the world.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Anita Farrell Littlefield and John C. Littlefield Sr.; his son, John C. Littlefield III, passed away in 1992, from a construction accident; and his daughter, Ann Logan Littlefield, who passed away from pediatric leukemia in 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Moscoso Littlefield of 6 years; his daughter, Katherine (Kate) Morris Littlefield; his former wife, Virginia H. Littlefield of 39 years; his granddaughters, Julia Ann Keizler and Sasha Logan Keizler; and his sisters, Lynne Littlefield Longworth and Pearl Littlefield Schiraffa.
No services are planned at this time. The family will return his remains to New Hampshire and Maine in the future.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to St. Joseph's Hospice of Conroe, Amanda Arning for her devoted care, and Angela Littlefield for her commitment to providing John with a peaceful and loving home in his final years.
