John Robert Livingston of Emporia, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia. He was 76.
John was born on January 19, 1949, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Carl C. and Angelina Calcara Livingston. He married Mary Ann Whitaker on June 26, 1971, in Reading, Kansas. She survives.
Surviving family members include his wife, Mary Ann Livingston of the home, sons, Joshua M. (Megan) Livingston of Tonganoxie, Kansas, and Christopher R. (Casey) Livingston of Emporia; grandchildren, Alex Livingston, Brittney Zorn, Darian Walburn, TJ Livingston, Brett Bewley, Rhiannon Livingston, and Andre Livingston; sister, Carole States of Emporia.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
John served in the United States Navy from February 19, 1969, to October 15, 1973, on the USS Saint Paul. He later worked as a field construction Boilermaker at Boilermaker's Union Local 83 in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as at Sauder Custom Fabrication for 45 years.
Cremation is planned with a visitation from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Friday, November 14, 2025, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with burial following at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors by Ball-McColm Post #5 American Legion and Lowery-Funston Post #1980 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Emporia. Memorial contributions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School Building Fund can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
