John Robert Lohr, age 84, of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away on October 28, 2025. Born on July 6, 1941, John was a lifelong resident of the community, where he made significant contributions to the local food service industry.
He dedicated many years to his passion for culinary arts, owning his own catering business and lending his talents to local establishments such as Mon Chateau, The Old Mill Club, and Etchings Restaurant at the Seneca Center. His skills as a bartender and cook were a testament to his love for food and hospitality.
Beyond his professional endeavors, John was an avid gardener and an accomplished pianist. He also embraced a spirit of adventure that took him around the globe in his younger years, exploring diverse cultures and cuisines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Madelyn Becker Lohr and Frank Irvin Lohr, as well as his beloved siblings: sisters Wilma Lantz, Joyce Miller, and Judy Molter, and his brother Irvin "Scrib" Lohr.
Cremation services have been entrusted to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
