John Lok Jr. Obituary
John Lok, Jr., 77, passed away on July 24, 2024, in Byron Center, Michigan after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 23, 1947, in Hengelo, The Netherlands, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathleen (Robinson) Lok; daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Finses; son, Gregory (Angela) Lok; grandchildren, Andrew Finses, Hannah Lok, Allison Lok, Meghan Lok, Caleb Lok; sister, Helen Westveer; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Lok, and his sister, Marian Hewitt.
John served honorably in the US Army as a Specialist 5 from 1966 to 1968, including a tour in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. After his military service, he began his career as a concrete form pattern maker from 1965 to 1973, followed by a long tenure as a carpet and wood floor installer until his retirement in 2005.
A dedicated member of Rush Creek Bible Church, John was deeply involved in his faith community. He cherished his time playing golf and assembling jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed moments with his family, especially fishing with his grandkids and attending their many sporting events. He also loved his weekly cribbage games over the past 15 years with the guys.
Services will be held at Rush Creek Bible Church, located at 2334 76th Street, Byron Center, MI 49315 on Saturday, August 3. Visitation at 10am followed by a service at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ministry Fund at Rush Creek Bible Church or to Faith Hospice in honor of John.
