Obituary
Mr. John G. Love is the son of the late James Love, Sr., and Ruth Roberta Reid Love. On February 11, 1936, he was born in York County, South Carolina. He departed this life, peacefully, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Health High Point Regional Hospital.
John was employed by Thomasville Furniture Industries Plant C in the Shipping Department for 41 years. John was a humble person. He loved Gospel Music, Christmas Music, and Concerts. He sang with The Mighty Clouds of Joy. He loved to go shopping and traveling with his wife.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, John Henry Love; two brothers, Robert Love and Willie (Sonny) Love; two sisters, Leolia Gibson and Maggie Cord; and a stepson, Robert Smith.
Left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Sarah Smith Love; three daughters, Cindy Love, Shelia (Renell) Love, Marilyn Love; stepchildren, Eric Coleman (Joyce), Fred Smith (Marian), Kenneth Smith (Geraldine), and Scott Smith; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Gordon of Cincinnati, OH, Frances Cockrane (Jeff) of Charlotte, NC, Nellie Queen (Steve) of Virginia, Christine Lane of South Carolina, Beatrice Love of New York, JoAnn Love Stephenson of Thomasville, NC, Ellabell Love of Thomasville, NC, Gloria Love of Thomasville, NC; brothers, James Love, Jr. "June" (Barbara) of Thomasville, NC, Sammie Glenn Love (Barbara Jean) of Thomasville, NC, Ira Love "Ike" (Adele) of Cincinnati, OH, Hugh Roy Love of Greensboro, NC; in-laws, Jeannette Love of Cincinnati, OH, Henry Cord of South Carolina, Louise Gayman of Thomasville, NC, Evelyn Skeen (Chan) of Thomasville, NC, Shirley Oliver of Thomasville, NC, Henry Coleman of New York, Phillip Coleman (Freelove) of Thomasville, NC, Michael Coleman, Sr. (Josie Mae) of Thomasville, NC, William Coleman (Catherine) of Thomasville, NC, and Harry Jay Coleman (Ann) of Thomasville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends; special children, Coleman Smith, Noble Evans, Quindarian Rilley (Man Man).
