Charles Weldon Dobbins

Mr. Charles Weldon Dobbins, 98, formerly of Trinity, died March 8, 2026 at Brookstone Terrace Assisted Living in Thomasville.

He was born on May 17, 1927 in High Point, a son to the late Charles Hugh Dobbins and Mittie McDowell Dobbins. As a resident of this area all his life, he graduated from Trinity High School and later worked at Adams Millis for several years before retiring from Slane Hosiery. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Archdale Methodist Church. On June 14, 1947 he married Frances Leah Croker who preceded him in death on April 22, 1971. On October 12, 1973 he married Zula Mae Cook who preceded him in death on August 11, 2019. He also was predeceased by his sister, Marie D. Croker.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald D. Dobbins (Kathy) of Archdale and Dwight W. Dobbins (Marsha) of Trinity; two brothers, Larry G. Dobbins (JoCarol) of Thomasville and Herman Dobbins of Archdale; three grandchildren, Fran Hill (Matt) of Thomasville, Eric Dobbins (Rebekah) of Winston-Salem and Emily Dobbins of Thomasville; five great grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Corben Hill, Weldon Dobbins, Blayne Dobbins, and a future great granddaughter arriving in June. Also surviving is his stepdaughter, Mary Lee Hartley; two step grandsons; and two step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11th, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Mark Hollar officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00-1:45 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Fairview Church Cemetery in Trinity.
