John Steven Dobbins, age 70, passed away on March 14, 2026 in Cartersville, Georgia. He was born on October 4, 1955, in Villa Rica, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Henry Quiller (affectionately known as Doc) and Mrs. Grace Dobbins; his brother Frank and his wife Brenda.
John was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed watching the game with family and friends. He found great joy in deer and turkey hunting and his love for outdoor adventures was matched only by his affection for his grandchildren, who were the light of his life and brought him immeasurable joy and pride. He deeply cherished his family and loved nothing more than spending time with them. John will be always remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved sons, Michael Dobbins and his wife, Kayla, Johnathan Smith and his wife, Jessica, and James Matheson; six beautiful grandchildren: Riley Dobbins, Tucker Dobbins, Ansley, Brantley, Payton and Mia; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn & W.B. Agan, Jr; brother and sister-in-law, Quiller Terry & Carol Dobbins.
The family will receive loved ones and friends at Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
