John Lupkas Obituary
Retired manufacturing executive and resident of Wolcott and Cocoa Beach, FL, John "Jack" Lupkas, 91, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Trombley) Lupkas; and father of Peter Lupkas, with whom he made his home. His complete obituary will be published in tomorrow's publication.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate John's life on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, meeting directly at St. Pius Church / St. Basil the Great Parish, 517 Woodtick Rd., in Wolcott, for Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Immediately following Mass, John will be laid to rest, with full military honors, alongside his wife Joan in Edgewood Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Woodtick Memorial is honored to have been entrusted with his funeral arrangements, and you may visit his tribute page on www.woodtickmemorial.com . In lieu of flowers and at John's request, please make memorial contributions to Paralyzed Veterans of America or the American Cancer Society.

My condolences and prayers go forth to Jack's loving family. Jack was my friend and mentor at Truelove and McLean. I was hired by him at the shop in 1977 and he believe in me of my eagerness to work and do a good job. I always admire his keen awareness of people never to judge but give one a chance. I love the atmosphere of the shop and Jack had my back always. After my leave of work I sometimes would stop by to say hello he was truly a gentleman and bless with wisdom. A loving soul I'll miss until we meet again, Rest easy Jack and rest in heavenly peace my friend. God bless!

Dear Peter, so sorry to learn of Jack´s passing, Being your neighbor for 30 years+ we spent many many wonderful times together. I always looked forward to reading your dad`s editorials in the Waterbury Republican. I hope it helps to know that God is holding your dad in his arms and holding you in his heart. Such a great guy, being a good friend of his son we had spent many weekends together racing motorcycles in the 80´s. His wit and general good nature was a pleasure to be around. Always appreciated his dry humor. A true gentleman.
