John Lynch Obituary
John William Lynch, 77, husband of Mary Lane Lynch, of Salem, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
Born in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Lynch was the son of the late Ralph James Lynch and Doris Lorraine Lynch. John loved all sports and was an avid tennis player. He also enjoyed playing golf and watching football and baseball. John had a successful career as a Financial Advisor, spending many years with VALIC, an AIG company.
In addition to his wife of 26 years, Mr. Lynch is survived by his daughter, Lorra Lynch Jones (Ben); brother, Ralph Lynch (Patti); and grandchildren: Hope Jones, Olson Jones, and Benjamin Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Davenport Funeral Home – West Union, SC.
The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.

I have great memories of good times with John and Lane.
John was a good friend while working together at Valic for over 20 years. He was highly competitive at both work and on the tennis court. He would not quit until he was ahead in a tennis match. I could hit my 2 best shots and he would always run them down.
RIP my good friend John.
