John L. Lyon, 87, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at Lawrence General Hospital. A lifelong North Andover resident, he spent 25 years in Brentwood, New Hampshire, before recently returning to the town he always considered home. He also cherished many summers spent at his home on Little Neck in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

John was a person who valued family and community. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus in North Andover and generously gave his time serving on the Municipal Budget Committee in Brentwood, New Hampshire. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, sense of responsibility, and commitment to those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Florence A. Lyon of North Andover, Massachusetts; a son, John L. Lyon, Jr., and his wife, Hale F., of Wells, Maine; a daughter, Katherine M. Campbell, and her longtime partner, Robert S. White, of Boxford, Massachusetts; and four grandchildren, Hannah E. Gillis and her husband, Thomas J. Gillis, of Medford, Massachusetts; Abigail K. Campbell of Boxford, Massachusetts; and twins Grace L. Campbell of Boxford, Massachusetts, and Dylan J. Campbell of Somerville, Massachusetts. He is also survived by one great-grandson, Callan J. Gillis of Medford, Massachusetts.
