John MacCready Obituary

Jack passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the age of 91. Jack was born on August 9, 1934 in Jackson, Michigan to Lloyd and Marion MacCready. He attended Jackson Public Schools and after graduating, served in the United States Navy. In the late 1950's Jack returned home to Jackson and joined his family's business, Jackson Glass Works. As the second generation in the company, Jack worked alongside his brother Sherman and later became president of the company. Jack married Bonnie L Sarata in 1964 and together they welcomed son Jay shortly after. Jack was a longtime member of Arbor Hills Country Club enjoying countless rounds of golf and various social activities. There were not many days that you would not find Jack on the golf course enjoying his favorite pastime. Jack and Bonnie wintered in Naples and Ft Myers for over 20 years where they made many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, his parents Lloyd and Marion, brothers James and Sherman, and sisters Joan and Sarah. He is also preceded in death by his lifelong friend Douglas "Ducky" Andrews. We are sure they are already hitting the links and having a cocktail together once again. He is survived by son Jay (Kara) MacCready, grandsons Jacob and Collin MacCready ,granddaughter Alexa Thompson, sister Marilyn MacCready Calderone and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Kelly Konopacki, who was an amazing caregiver for both Bonnie and Jack.
As per his request, no funeral or memorial services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Henry Ford Health Hospice.

Another friend and golfer joining the links in Heaven - foursomes are growing. May God's peace be with family and friends remembering and sharing memories. Kayle and I visited Bonnie and Jack years ago in Florida.
