John Joseph MacDonald (Jack) Sr., 93 years old, of Wallingford, PA formerly of Clifton Heights, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 24, 2025.

Jack was the son of the late Stewart L. and Ethel MacDonald of Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from John Bartram High School Class of 1949. He served in both the United States Army, and Air Force, and was a Police Officer for over 30 years, and a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27.

Jack lived in the Westbrook Park section of Upper Darby for 65 Years. For the past two years he enjoyed his new home at Plush Mills surrounded by wonderful residents and staff that he was proud to call friends. He will be remembered there for his kindness, a helping hand to all, always a smile, a wave, and of course his keen sense of humor.

Jack was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Springfield, Pa. He enjoyed family vacations to Ocean City, MD., and owned a house on the Delmarva Peninsula for many years. Jack was an accomplished sketch artist, a fledgling painter, and the family poet. He was the co-founder of the organization Police Officers On Pension, proudly referred to as the P.O.O.P Group. The organization lives on today with over 200 members strong. Jack's legacy will live on through all the people he mentored, embraced, and loved, and through his many acts of kindness, and while his physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us.
