John Macedo

Enfield, NH - John Macedo, 84, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, February 5, 2026. He was born in New Bedford, MA, to the late John and Lillian Macedo. He married Elaine Chase on December 19, 1959. John and Elaine moved to the Upper Valley in 1981. Once in the Upper Valley, John worked at Lebanon Crushed Stone in West Lebanon and later in retirement at BJ's. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially if it was a clam boil, singing karaoke, and traveling to visit friends and family.

He is survived by his four children, John Reed (Cindy), Robin Lee Ponte, Russell Alan (Helen), Michael Anthony (Lesa), his favorite sister-in-law Barbara Macedo, eleven grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, parents, brothers Richard and Carl, and his favorite son-in-law John Ponte.

Per his request, there will be no services. A memorial gathering will be at a later date.

John's family would like to thank the staff at Jack Byrnes Center for their compassionate care in helping him on his way.

My husband Randy Sherman worked with John through Pike for years and I had the fun to know Elaine at Kmart. I never called him John it was always mom and Pops.

They both were incredibly loving people and are truly missed.
Please I would love to know if there is a celebration of life for him if possible.
