John Mager Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by White Funeral Home - Burnsville on Mar. 17, 2026.
John was a simple man. He valued hard work, education and family. John enjoyed his hobbies of
playing the organ, woodworking and kept his mind busy with current events in his later years.
He kept is lawn meticulous and enjoyed doing so. He worked 35 years at what was Sperry
Univac and later became Unisys. His love of hymns and the music from the 40's was something
you could always count on playing in the background if you came to visit him. He enjoyed
helping others. He had a soft spot in his heart for his pets, and his family's pets throughout his
and his family's lives. The most important thing in his life was his family both of the Mager side
and the Linton side, that was of his ex-wife Jane, who he adored and loved immensely. His
children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. His great-grandchild was the best gift he
could have asked for before he died-it gave him joy and comfort that his family's life will carry
on. Dialysis and other old-age complications, along with the many medicines, John was on; he
was ready for a new journey. John was ready to meet his Savior Jesus Christ. He found peace
and wanted everyone that loved him, to find their peace.

At 12:15am, March 12, 2026, with his son by his side, John took his last earthly breath. He is at
peace and has gone to our Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by Jane Mager, and his children Leigh Ann (Bob) Edwards and Ward Mager, along
with grandchildren Ashely (Joe) Ysaguirre, Austin Hardel, Aaron Hardel (Hailey) and Cameron
Mager, and great-grandchild Wilder. He is also survived by his brother Don (Shirley) Mager and
many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at White Funeral Home in Burnsville Minnesota, on Wednesday April 8,
2026. Visitation will be at 9:30am and services at 10:30am. Lunch will be provided for all
family members immediately following the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at
1pm at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Please arrive 15 minutes prior at assembly area #4.
I'M FREE
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God has laid for me. I took His hand
when I heard his call, and I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh
and love, and work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, for I've found peace at the
close of day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared,
a laugh, a kiss, oh yes, and to these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, and I savored much; good friends, good
times, and a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, and do not lengthen it
now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee, God wanted me now, and he has
set me free.
