John Malecki, 87, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Allegheny Valley Hospital. He was born March 31, 1938, in Natrona Heights to the late John and Ann J. (Bandurak) Malecki. John retired as a journeyman machinist from Westinghouse in Cheswick after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed model trains, watching movies on his tablet, music, playing the piano and smoking a cigar on his porch. John was a dedicated caregiver for his late wife during her extended illness. John is survived by his children, David (Marie) Malecki, of Novi, Michigan and Sandra (Jack) Slagel, of Buffalo Township and by his granddaughters, Dr. Alexis Malecki, Krista Malecki and Sarah Slagel. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, D. Joyce (Ashbaugh) Malecki on November 3, 2009, son, Thomas W. Malecki (1969) and sister, Patricia Yasovsky.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. in the Cicholski-Zidek Funeral Home, Inc., 1522 Carlisle Street, Natrona Heights 724-224-8688, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Doug Dorsey. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of John may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
