John (Darryl) Mason, age 61, transitioned from this life on August 2, 2024 at his home in Pickerington, Ohio. He was born January 4, 1963 to Johnny Frank Burks and Delores Mason, both deceased. Also preceded in death by Edward Shepherd, Willie Mason, Ricky Mason, Michael Mason, Terrie Mason, Keith Mason and Kendall Williams.
Darryl loved his family and friends, was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steeler fan, an avid fisherman, a music lover, a professional painter, coach/mentor and a great cook.
He is survived by his immediate family, Laura Mason, John Mason Jr., Tara Mason, Isaiah Mason, John Mason III, Demetrius Mason, and Mother-in-Love, Pauline Barnes. Also survived by siblings, Patricia Walker, Rosalind (Melvin) Hosey, Cassius Burks, Johnyall (Juan) Williams and Kameron Williams; his best friends, Phillip Allen and Mike Adams and a host of family and friends, too many to name.
Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
