John was a young attending physician when I was a resident at St Vincents and was incredibly supportive and encouraging when I was asked to do something out of my comfort zone, like leading a Journal Club discussion, making home visits with the team in the community, or participating in TB research by testing and tracking the homeless indivividuals in the west village. He was tireless in his care and concern as a teacher and a physician. I treasure those memories and offer my sympathy to his family for their loss.

John will be so missed by our family. Such a quiet giant of a man, and we could not have asked for a better role model in our lives. Rest in peace, brother and friend.
