John C. McAllister, 73, of Bismarck, Arkansas has taken his final flight to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, August 25, 2013. He was born May 25, 1940 in Lebanon, MO. He fought the good fight and ran the race faithfully. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby McAllister of Lebanon, MO. He was a minister and pastored churches throughout Oklahoma and Missouri, as well as churches in Jonesboro, AR, Whitney, TX, Boliver, MO, Brosley, MO, Hope, AR, and Blevins, AR. He is survived by his wife, Geneva McAllister of Bismarck, AR, brother, James (Helen) McAllister of Lebanon, MO, daughters, Sherie (Joseph) Rios of Hot Springs, Gina (Charles) Heckel of Hot Springs, and son, Randall (Sandra) Dowling of Calhoun, GA. Granddaughters Danielle (Jonathon) Turner of Hot Springs, Meredith (Brad) LaRue of Hot Springs, and Jennifer (John) Benefield of Chattanooga, TN. Grandsons Joshua (Jessica) Heckel of Hot Springs, Eligio Rios of Stillwater, OK, Tim (Annie) Harris of Atlanta, GA and Stuart and Drew Dowling of Calhoun, GA. Great-granddaughters Gabrielle and Emily Turner and Jessalyn and Jillian Heckel of Hot Springs, AR. Great-grandson Marcus Turner of Hot Springs, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends, and yet unborn great-grandson, Braddox LaRue of Hot Springs. John was looking forward to witnessing this birth. He had the privilege of dedicating his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the Lord. The family would like to thank all the loving and caring staff at Garland Convalescent Center and Kathy Reed, Chaplain, National Park Medical Center secord floor staff, Dr. Russell Branstetter, Conley Henderson, Leon Bell, Bill Conatser, and Doyle Hawthorne for their many visits, prayers, and encouragement. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bells Chapel Nazarene Church, P.O. Box 207 Blevins, AR 71825, to help continue to spread the gospel here and around the world. Cremation services provided by Gross Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at First Church of the Nazarene, 3804 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, AR with Dr. Russell Branstetter and Brother Conley Henderson officiating.
