John P. “Truck” McConnell, 69, of Oxford, New Jersey, passed away on November 29, 2025, at St. Luke’s Bethlehem Hospital.
Born on March 20, 1956, in Summit, New Jersey, John was the son of Margaret McConnell (nee. Costello) and the late Robert E. McConnell. He was a graduate of Union High School and went on to work as a mechanic for the State of New Jersey, proudly serving in Local Unions 195 and 518.
Known to many simply as Truck, John had a passion for motorcycles and was an active member of his motorcycle club. He was happiest when working on bikes and cars or spending time with animals—especially his beloved dog, Crash.
John is survived by his mother, Margaret; his siblings, Kathy Nelson and her husband Ed, and Bob McConnell and his wife Roseanne; his nieces Christina, Michelle and her husband Corey, and Patty and her husband Nelson; and his nephews, Bobby and his wife Jess and Eddie and his wife Anika. He also leaves behind many great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as his companion, Laura Galliera.
